Friends,
Time is flying by and it is once again time
to update everyone on some of the achievements
and events taking place in our Support
Group. We continue
to work on our mission to make NF a common name
in the health community, schooling system and
the general public.
Without staff this work can be slow, but
our baby steps are still moving us forward! I
believe that we accomplish all that we do
because of the dedicated supporters we have
within our group! Thanks for your continued time
and willingness to
help! |

MRI Campaign
Our MRI Goggle Campaign is still in the
works. We increased awareness of our group
and campaign by asking participating schools and
businesses to consider our group for their Jeans
Day for Charity collections. We had many
schools and businesses in the Westman Region
send money. This effort raised
$1000.
We also had a Drive into the Fifty's Day at
the Minnedosa Dari Isle Drive Inn. We
received $5.oo from each Special sold. (Burger,
fries and milkshake for $8.50). Troy, Tracy and
Levi dressed in 50's fashion and helped with the
operations. This event rose $750.
Cindy Genyk and Nancy Anderson have sent
out grant requests to larger companies, which
also helps raise the awareness of our group and
NF.
The Lions Club has recently taken an
interest in our campaign. More details will be
sent out when this has been finalized.
An online Pepsi Grant opportunity for
$25,000 has been initiated. From March 1st to
April 30th we encourage you to vote daily.

 Run With Me...4
NFOur
sixth annual run for Neurofibromatosis will take
place on June 11th. Both the 5k and 10k runs
start and finish at the Minnedosa Beach
Pavilion.
This
run continues to be our biggest fundraising
event and helps us maintain our core operating
needs. This past year's Run 4 NF brought in over
$6000!
Next
year we will be adding an online payment option
for runner's to collect pledges.
Thanks
to Charlie and all our members who make the
effort to travel, participate, collect funds and
/or volunteer. You help make this event a
continued success.
Reminding
everybody to sign up early and get pledging for
our 6th annual run!

MBNF Picnic
Our
picnic was once again well-attended and
fantastic thanks to Stephanie! This is our best
get-together to visit with our friends within
our group. It is a time to share good food, NF
stories, talk about doctors and appointments or
just shoot the breeze. The picnic took
place on August 21st at Assiniboine Park.
Looking

Mark your Calendar
- Our next MBNF meeting will
be held In Brandon On April
30th at the Lakeview Inn and Suites
from 2-4pm.
The focus
of this meeting will be about the LD's
associated with NF. Guests from student services
within the school system will be in attendance
for the presentation.
- The 6th Annual Run with me...4
NF will take place June
11th, 2011 at 10:00 AM
in Minnedosa.
- Trash the Dress will be
held on September 18th in
Winnipeg. For $150 towards our campaign, you
will get to feel like a model for a day and have
fantastic pictures to prove it. Thank you to
Carrie for donating your time and skills.
